“Today’s
Telecom Policies – Time for a Change?”
The FTIA’s 101st Annual
Convention will be held Sunday, June 29 through Wednesday,
July 2, 2008, at Ginn Hammock Beach Resort in
Palm Coast,
Florida.
In keeping with this year’s theme,
Today’s Telecom
Policies – Time for a Change?, our program offers something for everyone, regardless of your area of
expertise. A panel of experts will be discussing the
current regulatory environment and whether it is still
appropriate for today’s competitive telecommunications
landscape. Learn more about the implications of
emerging policy issues in the broadband Internet
marketplace. Gain insight into potential changes to
Florida’s tax structure, including
reform of the communications services tax and other sweeping
tax reform proposals placed on the ballot by the Taxation &
Budget Reform Commission. Find out the latest
about the state of E911 in Florida. Hear our
elected officials recap the 2008 Legislative Session and
reflect on the challenges facing the Legislature in 2009.
Gain insight into the candidates running for election in the
fall and what the key issues for this election season will
be.
In addition to a great informational
program, lots of fun-filled events and great evening
gatherings are planned, including the annual FTIA Golf
Tournament, a Spa Party for spouses/guests and non-golfers,
and a special Kids Crew Party for the kids.

industry, the convention program offers several great

The Vendor Exhibit & Reception will be held Monday
evening, June 30, providing an opportunity to display your
company’s products and services and to interact with the
senior executives of
Florida’s telecom providers.
To reserve your exhibit table, submit your
Exhibit Table Reservation Form and
appropriate fees to the FTIA by June 13.
Hotel reservations for all guests are to be made directly with

referring to the FTIA convention.
Special group rates starting at $219.00 per night
have been secured and, based on the resort’s availability,
may be honored up to three days before and after the
