its members, develop consensus solutions to problems
and implement solutions; Serves

latest telecommunications issues and technologies.
OVERVIEW OF FTIA
The Florida Telecommunications
Industry Association (FTIA), established in
1907, is a trade organization representing the interests
of Florida’s telecommunications companies.
Member companies include incumbent and competitive local
exchange telecommunications services providers, and long
distance and wireless providers.
The FTIA currently has 12 members that are
telecommunications service providers and approximately
50 member companies who supply goods and services to the
telecommunications industry.
The Association benefits the industry by fostering
communication and cooperation among its members and
serves as a unified voice for its members on policy
issues.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The FTIA
is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of at
least three (3) but not more than 18
directors elected by the membership. All
categories of members are represented on the Board.
FTIA policy is formulated through a standing committee
process and, once adopted by the Board, is carried out
by the FTIA staff under the leadership of the President.
