Six Sigma Project is not just for the Elite ImageSix Sigma project is very effective for organizations that is serious about the process improvement. But they also tend to have different characteristics that some people do not agree with or think that they can not get benefit from. The part of the problem is that this process is very mysterious to many people. They hear about the black belt, yellow belt and green belt, but they know nothing about what actually happens in this process. SO, this leaves them with the feeling that six sigma projects are something only for those who are among the elite in the business world.

When the six sigma process is adopted by a company, the wrong attitude become even more serious. Employees who will be affected by the project tend to get even more apprehensive and skeptical about the actual practical application of this process for their business. When it comes to the utilizing these projects in your company, you must ensure that the proper change management techniques have been used so that everyone undestand what is happening. If people understand things, they tend to be are less ignorant about them. This is especially true if the benefits of such a wonderful process are spelled out to employees.

Many people are even ignorant enough to be resentful of the actual Six Sigma team members, as they may seem “better than anyone else” in their distorted perception. Perhaps there are some team members that are arrogant or think that they are better than everyone, but that is not true of all of them. No matter about what industry you go into, or what kind of business you are talking about, there will always someone somewhere who thinks that they are better than others. Therefore, you should not assume that it is just this kind of team members who have this unfortunate attitude.

Whether people are criticizing Six Sigma projects by themselves, or are actually criticizing the people who work on the project, it is not a generalization that you can make with certainty. There are lots of great people who have mastered this philosophy, and many companies that have greatly benefited from this process. Next time you or someone you know want to assume that six sigma is only for the elite in the business community, you may want to rethink that generalization. This is because there are many benefits for businesses of all sizes and shapes than you may ever realize without researching this process management theory and its benefit and drawbacks for your company in particular.
