Students Equipped with the Latest Gadgets ImageAccording to National Retail Federation, college students spent $8,200,000,000 on electronics through a semester. Now this product has grown in sophistication as students toting them.

With the increasing class workload and demanding social schedule, it makes sense that students have turn to mobile computing to help keep track of their busy lives. Replace piles of paper, reference books and post-it notes with handhelds, such as Palm TX  with built in Wi-Fi keep the students organized and in sync when they are away from their dorm rooms.

Handheld do things such as talking notes, e-mail questions to professor and carrying around electronics research instead of carrying a heavy reference books-a breeze. Combining TX handheld with a wireless keyboard and students have a cheaper and more portable as alternative to laptop. In addition to the handheld, the National Retail Federation found that 85 percent of college students have cell phones and 60 percent of them access the internet through it.

Students demand smarter phones with more features they want it (e-mail, web access, instant messaging, Microsoft Office applications, streaming video and audio, and more). This phone on steroids, and called “smartphones” is the latest trend. According to In-Stat, the smartphone market grow over 70 percent last year and will continue to grow significantly over the next five years. Palm, Inc. the maker of the very popular Treo line of smartphones, has sold millions of copies.

Thanks to the high-speed networks, data speed (used to get email, surfing internet or for streaming video) on their smartphone is now as fast as traditional DSL connections that are often used in homes and businesses. Today, by using with the latest smartphone, the student can perform a Google search, while soaking up sun in the quad, listening to the live radio briadcasts in the library or watch their favorite TV programs from video streaming from the internet.

Thanks to the latest gadgets, tech-savvy students can keep track of everything from sports exercise to date on Friday night, all in something that fit easily into the pocket.

Today’s savvy students appreciate the high-tech handheld.
